This morning there was a puddle of water near the sink, and splattering in the area around the sink. There was no sign of leakage from the roof, the taps where off, but there was a few drips coming from the under the counter top. On drying the floor, no more water has appeared, and on running the tap for a while, no leakage was outed and no further drips appeared.

Is it possible that some increase in mains pressure could cause a sudden outflowing from an off tap? I've not ruled out sleep walking.

Do you have children? They usually keep very quite about their water games. ;)

Maybe... one of the taps was left on very slightly... causing water to run down the tap body and around the tap hole into the basin... from where the water ran down the pipe and onto the floor?

It annoys me when taps do this.

I am constantly nagged by the Mrs for not shaking water off my hands before reaching for the towel, the result is small puddles of water around the bowl. Perhaps I have been sleep walking and paid you a visit :D :D

These phenomena are usually caused by poltergeist .
Get a priest in pronto. Oh and nail your doors open.
