would you pay 8k for this?

As my mate said this will just lie in the garden for a couple of years then end up on ebay selling for about £100... what a dee head
The same people buy hot tubs, have their drives shiny, paint their roofs, buy bread-makers and have some kind of enlarged insect nailed to the outside wall somewhere.

You forgot the wind chimes. What are those things all about? A friend had to ask his neighbour to move theirs, because the noise drove him nuts in the summer when he was trying to go to sleep.

My neighbour's chimes have been going berserk in the wind recently

where i used to live the neighbours put up chimes, fooking things.
1 night i climbed over the fence and took them down.they put them back up.this went on for a few weeks, until i threw them over there back fence onto another estate.lo n behold they went out and replaced them so i done it again.
they never did replace them this time.or found out who it was who kept removing them.

What a prat! He's done it now. He should have noticed the CCTV camera.

Incidentally, I can't stop laughing at the neighbour's wife's name: Tatiana Looby! I think I'd have changed that by deed poll by now.

Effing wind chimes are the work of the devil. I asked my neighbour to remove hers, which fortunately she did with no bother. But if she hadn't they would definitely have disappeared one night. I don't know what people are thinking. It's like having somebody pressing your doorbell all night.

Yes, not necessarily a loud noise, just constant and irritating. At night when no other noise, sounds seem amplified and travel further.

If having to remove your neighbour's chimes in the small hours, remember the balaclava. CCTV is everywhere these days.

If wind chimes are the biggest issue in your lives, I want your lives!
It's a noise nuisance, simple as. Mildly annoying for the first couple of minutes and then becomes the bane of your life thereafter. Especially given the fact that we have been experiencing a pretty windy 2015.

Some people are just plain ignorant. Like those that think it acceptable to have dogs barking 24 hours a day. Is that why they put them outside so that the owners can get some peace?

A wind chime is hardly an incessantly-yapping mutt, imho.
(And our neighbours have wind chimes, and a dog - which barks infrequently).

Indeed. Once your brain tunes into a noise, it can be really annoying.

We inherited a bamboo wind chime from the previous owner of the house. Kids like to play with it, as they can reach the bottom bit, but we've had no complaints from the neighbours.

If they did complain, it would come straight down.

Although I might then asked them to turn off their outside lights at night, which are left on all night. Can't see the reason for people doing this, and it interferes with a bit of star gazing.
