Hi,

I'm 90% certain it is but was hoping someone could confirm that this is a bayonet gas fitting (connects to the gas hobs), and is the type that I can safely remove myself? To disconnect I just turn the connection at the grip and pull out? (i'm replacing the cooker)

Thanks
David.

Push in and twist. Yes its ok for you to remove. Should really be facing down though (stops debris falling in).

Unless i'm looking at it upside down:)

thanks for the help. i'm replacing a cooker with gas hobs / electric oven with an in built gas hob / separate electric oven

You can disconnect and refit the bayonet (y)

But you ain't supposed to connect the hose to the cooker.........................................

i assumed the hob would come with hose attached.. I'll get someone in to refit it once the kitchen's in, cheers

Nope, if it's a fitted hob (separate 4 burner gas hob fitted into a worktop), it would usually need to be connected with a rigid pipe.

A bayonet connector is really only for a freestanding cooker that can be pulled out for cleaning etc.
