Hi,
I have a 3 floor HMO, with a loft conversion as the 3rd floor.
I facilitate access to the void under the pitched roof, I have has a 'hatch' constructed in the Purlin wall.
As an HMO the wall and doors must be 30 minutes fire protecting.
The hatch is approx 800x600mm, 120mm thick, made from 9mm MDF, encasing 100mm Cellotex - but with the MDF all round.
Is there a way to make this hatch door 30 minute Fireproof, would a 'Fireboard' fixed on top of the MDF comply ?
Thanks

Fit a piece of Masterboard to the front and intumescent strips around the hatch

Curses - looks like the lovely hatch, frame and architrave installed by my chippy will have to be replaced.
The opening needs to be certified Fire Proof, however found these people that supply these, I should be able to squeeze through a 600x600 space !
