Should electric cable be so close to a gas pipe in stud wall?

I was just wondering if this gas pipe is okay in the wall, next to electrical cabling. One of the photos shows that cable is pushing against the coper gas pipe.

The cable should not be touching the gas pipe, there should be some separation between the service pipework of at least 25mm and 150mm from the switches and sockets, if they are not separated by an electrical insulated material.
I would also have concerns over the placement of the gas pipe, as it is in a stud wall and should be installed in a purpose designed/built channel.

You beat me to it. Unless that stud work is ventilated it is definately a suspect installation.

Ventilation is only one consideration.

Agreed! A lack of good practise and good workmanship seems to be evident.
As well as a number of non-compliances.

What do you mean by "electrical insulated material"? What kind of electrical insulated material would make it conform to regulations regarding separation distance?

What do you mean by "electrical insulated material"? What kind of electrical insulated material would make it conform to regulations regarding separation distance?

Anything that can insulate the pipework from a voltage in the region of 250V.
