Try and buy a cp12 from say corgi or plumbcentre and you must show your ID !! What's to stop the cowboys who don't have up to date certification buying these and falsifying the information !!!! The point I'm trying to make .
Plumb Center have never asked me for ID. What's to stop cowboys buying them? Absolutely nothing. What's to stop them making their own? Again, absolutely nothing

Sounds more like a cheapskate landlord to me, that doesn't want to pay an engineer for a safety check, so is going to go out buy a pad and write his own.
