As per my other thread regarding splitting my headboard to get it up my stairs, im now looking for a flatpack chest of drawers made from decent oak wood, i dont want ikea quality and i dont mind if its pricey. I already sent a 4 drawer chest back as it wont go up, a 3 drawer would not fit either (i made a box the relevant size to try), bedside cabinets went up ok. So where can i buy chests of drawers, made from oak and that are flatpack?

With the hollow one, you may be able to create a wooden plug to slide in.
Unless you are lucky, you'd need to either plane down a chunk of hardwood, or possibly make a pack of wood and ply to fit?

Some habitat stuff is not the best, plenty of their stuff will last a lifetime. Some awesome habitat bargains can be found on eBay though.

I don't think so, not shopped with them since their shops went down the pan.

Ok cheers

Check before you buy: some "self-assembly" furniture is not CKD, but just needs some finishing touches.

I seen something i like on that site but other stores say no assembly required, like you said its maybe just the finishing touches. The oak bedside cabinets i bought needed the handles screwed on.

Get in touch with them and ask if it is really flat pack or semi-assembled.

Well someone replied and said it does come flat packed however many other places sell it and list it as fully assembled, i have emailed them back to double check as i dont think the person did anything more than check the info on their screen rather than check with someone who does know.
