Replacing Centaurplus C17 with Migenie Wish 1 T714R on a Ideal Evo HE C22

Hi All,

Before I embark on this project I wanted to check my understanding of the wiring. Both programmers use an industry standard backplate. The centaurplus is currently wired as follows:

E = Earth
N = Neutral
L = Live
1 =
2 = Brown (Boiler Live out)
3 =
4 = Blue (Switched live return)

The MiGenie Manual shows the following connections
E = Earth
N = Neutral
L = Live
1 = Live (looped from L)/Common)
2 = CH OFF
3 = CH ON
4 =

As the terminology is lightly different I am not 100% sure how to adapt the backplate. My first Guess is to leave 2 as is, and move 4 to 3:
E = Earth
N = Neutral
L = Live
1 = Live (looped from L)
2 = CH OFF (Brown)
3 = CH ON (Blue)
4 =

Could anyone advise if this would be correct or if I am wrong?

Yes to the second attempt:
After some further reading and research I am not sure I have it right. I'm now thinking the wiring should be:
E = Earth
N = Neutral
L = Live
1 = Common (Brown)
2 =
3 = CH ON (Blue)
4 =

Hi,
can you tell me if you used the link from L to 1?
I have fitted a MiGenie wish and the boiler won't turn off when the room reaches temperature. Might it be something to do with the link I have left in?
 
The heating always on in likely from the link left in. You haven't said what connections you have. Do not install a link in the migenie unless you are certain it is needed, or you might destroy the boiler PCB. It would be rather helpful to know what boiler you have...
 
Hi Echo,
the boiler is an Ideal Logic+ Combi C30.

I removed the link and the boiler is working fine now. Thankfully no damage to the PCB.

But for clarity....
the connections at the genie are...
N = Neutral
L = Live
1 = Common (Showing a link between here and terminal L)
2 = Off (Normally closed)
3 = On (Normally open)
4 = Not used

I have connected the two cores from the room stat/timer terminals at the boiler to the 1 Common and 3 On (Normally Open) terminals at the genie.
