First of all can I ask that there is no bickering on this thread, please?

My only reason to post here is for the well-being of the OP.

I wondered now that Helen has lived with her new switch for a short while whether everything is working as it did before the switch change?

I'm a bit bothered about the "mystery" 5th wire, which was not reconnected.

https://www.diynot.com/diy/threads/help-2-way-light-switch.481986/ There is no 5th wire the 'wire' at the top LHS is the outer casing of the cable. There is however one remaining problem. The wire on the RHS needs the outer casing stripped back to allow the earth wire to be connected into the terminal block. For some reason this advise has been deleted.

I still don't get the gist of that photo, they look like 6181y wires to me. So where is that earth coming from?

Or is only that top-middle one a 6241y cable and the other 3 are 6181y wires?
