Low Pitched slate roof is leaking - Possible solutions

The slates will leak a little. thats why you counter batten then torch on felt , breathable felt, batten for slates then slates. use a big slate with large head lap.
The breathable felt is almost a token of good intent.. it wont last long. Then the torch on will take over.

Woody definitely been very helpful...alot of negativity computer says no type

Why? If we don't know of an alternative then nailing through the waterproofing layer is suddenly foolproof?
 
It's not just the bodge I find bothersome. I don't like looking at a shallow pitch with roof tiles on it. Looks plain wrong.
