Ryobi one + batteries

My brother has this kit, older stuff with ni cad batteries which are pretty much useless. Do the new Li ion batteries fit the older tools? I know he would need a new charger if they do fit.

All one+ tools and batteries are compatible with each other.

They weren't one+ plus were they? IIRC they were just Ryobi 18v.

yes i fully understand that just clarifying the exact situation rather than making assumptions that the op understands that one+ refers to the system off tools and batteries that fit together rather than a full ryobi generic name in the same way someone
may say subaru impreza when its just a subaru
