Will a cavity sock stop vermin / mice ?

Planning to use a cavity sock to stop the gap between the 2 leaves at wall plate height

Will this stop mice from getting into walls ? lots of the little blighters in this neck of the woods

Closing the cavity is so 1950's. Nowadays, wall insulation should run continuous with the roof insulation.
 
This a conversion and walls are not insulated in the cavity. We are doing interior celotex

is there no fire regs thingy that is should be fire stopped ?

i wonder have you lived with mice dancing on your plasterboard ?
