Could anyone who is a dab hand at social media please spread this around?

We bought a fridge from Currys for delivery on Monday 27 November and paid for a door reversal. The fridge arrived but the delivery guy said it was badly damaged, so they took it away. A second fridge arrived the next day (Tuesday 28 November) but the delivery guy said he had neither the tools nor the training to carry out the door reversal.
He said he would ring the office and get me an appointment for an engineer to visit. Well, either he didn't call or the office did not ring me, but I had to ring for an appointment (taking over 35 minutes) which was today, Friday 1 December, between 0930 and 1330.
1330 came and went without an engineer appearing so I rang their "help"line.
They told me the visit would still be fulfilled and to wait in further, as they could be there up to 2000.
At 1800, I rang again and was told, after a delay during which the call centre worker went away to find out what was happening, that no-one would be coming now. I complained that their service was most direlikely and asked when they could come. I was given Wednesday as the next available date.
I explained that I currently had 3 fridges in my kitchen (two old ones and the new one) and was struggling for space.

Yup, been there one that, and got an upgrade to the fridge freezer for the hassles. The delivery men scratched the side of the fridge, and scraped it along the wooden floor bringing it in, then after denying that they'd caused the damage, tried to shrug it off as not being that visible as it was down the side. Shan't bother going into the rest of the story, but yes, they're useless - until you insist on speaking to someone higher up the food chain, or the MD's secretary, then you start getting results.

You can do the door yourself Securespark. There will be a couple of bolts holding on the door hinge bracket at the bottom of the fridge, so you lay the fridge on it's side, remove the bracket, the door comes off, and you then remove the top bracket, swap them over to the other side, and then reassemble it.

You probably could done it quicker than the phonecall!

Cheers doggit.
I ordered the door reversal service because I looked online at the process and it seemed quite complex.

Does one still need to leave it for 24 hours after standing it upright before switching it on.

2 hours settling before switching on for the Kenwood...

If the freezer has been stored standing upright there's no need to let anything settle. Changing the door over is a piece of cake, did my Mum's freezer in about 10 mins single handed. That came from Argos so was just dumped in the hall.

Shouldn't be too hard to DIY. did ours in about 10-15 mins.. not that that excuses pi55 poor service.

You buy a new freezer and have your old one taken away, what do you do with your food while the new one is "settling"?

what do you do with your food while the new one is "settling"?
I put the food in a temporary box built from 50mm polystyrene insulation panels pinned together with bits of wire coat-hanger, then drape the box with blankets, anoraks etc. and hope that a few hours settling time is sufficient.

Unless the delivery men are taking the old one away, you leave it in there; and if they are taking it away, then you put in the new fridge/freezer, and wait a couple of hours before switching it on.

Guess what?
Bloke rang this afternoon to say that the regular guy had "cried off", so he had taken over.
Guess what?
He can't do it....cancelled the appointment.

I now have an appt. for tomorrow pm.
