Reckon this is really her owner ?

.robbed your kids of joy there.
Silly me for not being one of those parents who rush to buy a puppy just to appease their kids. I encourage them to do sports, go camping, skiing, family holidays and encourage them away from their gadgets - sorry, next time Ill shove a puppy in front of them.

I am happy to know that I rattle some cages so violently that they have no sensible response to my comments.
Nice Xmas present for me! :)

Shouldn't there be an automatic ban when about 5 people have you on ignore.

Most people would have got the message by now, either to quit, or change the way they treat people.

I wont be putting you on ignore, I like your posts, especially the ones about Transom! :)

It is only by discussing with people that have an opposing view do we challenge our own beliefs. Otherwise we would just be stewing in our own juices :)

Unfortunately there tends to be so much dishonest debating going on that genuine discussion is seriously limited. But then isnt that what politicians make a career out of doing?

I'd like to think that the problems with politicians, is they are normal people that want to help change the system, and then get corrupted by those already in the power. But I do wonder how many of them actually believe the party line they come out with, or how many convince themselves they are being truthful. You can blatantly see when someone is just spouting nonsense to try and justify the viewpoint the started out with, even after you've totally destroyed it.

I'd love it if they were forced to have stress meters in front of them when they talk; now that would be interesting.

And yet I have a conundrum at the minute; my daughters wants to go to university, and then go into politics. So do I support her, taking into account that I have a low opinion of most politicians.

Errm. If you have him on ignore then you don’t see his posts so how can you read it then quote him?

The UK is lucky to have such a long established democratic system. Even with all its faults we are to a large extent able to enjoy freedom and free speech.

As citizens of such democracy, we take it for granted and politicians arent held in high regard. There are many backbench MPs that work tirelessly for their constituents and for their political beliefs.

Richard Bacon made this similar comparison on Question Time last night when talking about Trump and the American political system. Quite poignant.

One of the hardest things I ever had to do was walk away from one of my dogs. Clean break, easier for the dog & all that tosh.

I had the misfortune to unavoidably bump into him a few years later.

He did one of those things that made me love him so much, he wandered over & gave me the cursory sniff as if to suss out my potential as a food supply. I failed, he walked away to carry on his business.

Then he just stopped, one paw in the air. Shook his head & turned. He stood there poised for action for a brief moment then completely lost it & bounded towards me. It was like we'd never been apart.

<wipes tear>

I'm getting close to putting JohnD on ignore, but whilst Noseall can be a bit of a bugger with his derogatory RWR comment, I appreciate the quality of his work, and I've learnt a lot from him, so he'll be the last to go. There's others that'll be dealt with first.
