Nest 3rd Gen - Heatline Sargon 24 Combi Boiler

Hello All,

First off - My apologies for yet another nest install post. I just dont want to get it wrong and am installing myself. No previous knowledge of boiler work but a family memeber kindly purchased us one for Christmas but I cannot afford for a specialist to do it for me.

Within the manual for the boiler it says mains powered thermostat and open therm which are boath highlighted in red which i have managed to locate on the actual boiler. However in the manual it says (room thermostat live, room thermostat live) on both wire inputs of the circuit.

I thought one should be (N) Neutral.

I dont want to make the wrong connection if anyone could please advise? please see below for the manual - unfortunately this is an old model and the image quality within the manual is pixelated.

Step 1:- Call a Gas Safe Registered Engineer. Your boiler casing forms the safety room seal on your boiler, and it should only be removed and refitted by a GSR, who can then carry out the required 26.9 checks to ensure the boiler is still safe to use. The boiler should not be operated until these checks have been carried out

Just googled this 26.9 checks. Sound advice

Just to clarify - site rules prohibit us from advising you further, as you need to access a controlled part of the boiler, which is classed as gas work and we don't advise on that here

OH... I had just seen quite few posts on here in regards to nest installs and figured it would be the best place for advice in my situation, just unfortunate that no one had previously posted in regards to a Sargon 24.

Some boilers are designed so that the front casing can be removed without disturbing the gas safety side of things. Others can't, and I'm afraid yours falls into the latter category. We advise fully on the ones that are safe for DIYers to work on
