ECotecplus637 showing full flame on the info panel yet temperature is only on 29 degrees and radiators cool appreciate any info

you should hear the boiler start slowly and after about 1 min the gas valve should open fully and you will hear the difference, is that happening?

Press the button with the radiator symbol and see what temperature is shown as the target. Maybe someone changed it actually.
When you say full fill do you just mean the flame icon is displayed on the screen?
Do you have any fancy controls or just a normal on/off thermostat and programmer?

jajodu, Yep the boiler does start up and sometimes it you can her the valve opening in increments till its on full flame then starts making a whooshing sound and cuts out the cycle and starts again with slight temperature rise on each occasion but never reaching the set target

John, yes the rad is set to target temp& i do mean the flame icon, all controls are calling for heat. the only way i can get it to work as it should is press the restart button a couple off times !

Any fault code on the screen? If you're having to reset it suggests it's not detecting the flame or the pump isn't pumping properly and it's overheating.

theres no fault codes come up either , forgot to mention that.as i said it seams to make a strange whooshing sound as thought its trying to go through the cycle but just gives up !

whats the final s codes when going through sequence and faulting ?

Press the I button on the panel and observe the codes as it goes through the sequence, your installation manual will exp!ain what they mean,

Codes s40 & s04 show but not f codes, Whining its neck off this morning till i pressed reset ???

Easy job get Vaillant out and replace faulty mass flow sensor as this is keeping it in comfort mode, common on these easy job

Is the mass flow sensor on the gas side or the water side ?

I think he is referring to the flame sensor which is what detects if the gas is lit. It's in the gas side. The air flow rate is regulated by the fan which is also in the combustion side.
