Well I think what OP suggests is unless we abandon our support for the Iran deal the US won't want to trade with us but that's only important to the independence questions if we presume we wouldn't be able to trade on WTO terms either.

I don't see there's a position to argue; it's a case of cross the bridge when we get to it - seems to be more panic around the EU deal before thinking of a US deal.

In which case I can't help thinking that it is better to be a Member, with voting rights, and one of the largest and most influential in the bloc, rather than an argumentative outsider whingeing that "it's not fair"
