UK prisons and probation chief Michael Spurr

:mrgreen::mrgreen::mrgreen:

I though I was just attempting to put a pragmatic view, but apparently I am a hard left nut job. :ROFLMAO:

Personally I think Guantanamo bay is an example of terrible human rights abuse.

It shows how a 1st world superpower that claims to rid the world of terror, is causing its own brand of terror.

And why does America have the largest incarceration rate in the world at 700 or /100,000 people. Does it have the lowest crime...Nah

It also keeps terrorists locked up and off the streets.

You might not be a left-wing nut job Notch but you seem content getting caught in that umbrella - I don't think much of your passivism.

This country has serious serious problems and a pragmatic level headed view is what's needed, but you and I both know the left has gone too far, far too far. It's now gotten to the stage where the hard left are trying to ban and stifle freedom of speech, shut down political debate.

Odd that many of the far right actually like a lot of the strict muslim customs, but hate them at the same time.

It seems you are automatically labelled far right now if you care about your safety and security and that of your family and community. If you have a problem with migrant rape, crime, terrorism, extremism .. it makes you a xenophobe.

It's people like you that are a direct threat to this country. Hard left nut job.

Thank you for describing me as a hard left nut job. You know more about me than I do.

I am most definitely not left wing, but neither am I right wing. So, well researched, congratulations.

I respect law and order, and personal freedom, don't you? Guilty should be punished, whats the problem?

Just tell me how many rapes are committed by migrants, versus non migrants?

Why don't you recognise that extremism is the issue ? Is it because being exreme right wing puts you in danger of that heading? Yes far right are extremists and cause lots of issues to the security services? The middle ground people, don't. So who is actually the problem here?

You are a left-wing nut job ideologue and I stand by that opinion.

Attempts to bog the thread in dogma won't work.

I suppose when you are so far right, anybody else is hard left.

If you cannot understand the differences then it is understandable what you spout. Incorrect in so many ways.

As per your Tommy Robinson thread, myou are most upset when you consider he has been imprisoned unlawfully and tortured, but when one of the largest countries does is to 100's of people, you then consider that legitimate.

Can you justify how it is wrong for terrorists to imprison and torture people, but acceptable for America to do it? Im struggling to see how condoning double standards can improve the future of this world.

I understand that there had been too much political correctness that stifles free speech, and it needs to be addressed. However it doesnt help when thats used as an excuse to condone the 'knee jerk reaction' attitude that makes Guantanamo bay acceptable.

Its the same argument that people use to suggest internment as a solution to potential terrorists, or those returning from Syria that may have been fighting. It all sounds great down pub, 'locks the b*#**?#ds up. But when it gets challenged in more depth, it doesnt bear scrutiny. Therefore shortsighted and not pragmatic.

Well to a Marxist like yourself it's all power games and oppression anyway. I just wish you people would stick to your miserable lives and not inflict it on those that want to make it in life.

The facts speak for themselves, Trump's immigration policy has stopped hundreds of terrorists from being able to commit atrocities on US soil, it's the same reason trillions is being pumped into stopping terrorists worldwide. Your very naive view of an equitable and just world where everyone gets fair treatment unfortunately is not and never will be a reality, not while the underlying fanaticism driving these behaviours is there and for some sinister reason being actively cultivated by big government in the UK and many EU nations.

Wow such insight.

I didn't even know I was/am a marxist.

Have you had too many sherbets tonight? You are spouting nonsense

Re read that when you are sober, see if you still stand by that then.

So inaccurate, on so many levels, again

Trump's immigration policy has stopped hundreds of terrorists from being able to commit atrocities on US soil,
Had there been any terrorist events since 9/11?

If terrorists don't tick the box on the immigration form stating they are terrorists, they might still be let in.

Your very naive view of an equitable and just world where everyone gets fair treatment

Thats an assumption you are making.

Im not that interested in fair treatment. Im interested in pragmatic solutions.

Trump ban!
The flaw in this logic is that no terrorist attack in this country has ever been carried out by an Iraqi, Libyan, Sudanese, Syrian, or Yemeni immigrant. The attacks of 9/11, by far the most deadly terrorist attacks on U.S. soil, were planned and executed by nationals of Saudi Arabia—a country conspicuously missing from the list, along with other Muslim-majority countries in which Trump has business interests. While an Iranian national and a Somali national were responsible for non-fatal attacks in 2006 and 2016, respectively, this hardly justifies a blanket ban on immigration from those countries, let alone five others

Trump is really draining that swamp :ROFLMAO:

While Muslim-majority countries such as Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, and others are not included on the list, the omission of Turkey and Egypt may be argued as being seen at odds with Trump’s definition. Both Turkey and Egypt endured high-profile terror attacks in 2016.

The President has positions in two companies that may be related to business in Egypt, and has previously praised the country’s autocratic leader, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. In Turkey, Trump has a licensing deal to use his name on two luxury towers in Istanbul

The truth about 9/11 will come out someday.
9/11 was a terrorist outrage on a scale and sophistication which hadn't been seen before or since.
It is no coincidence that leading American neoconservative Robert Kagan who had been lobbying for a policy of regime change in the Middle East is quoted as saying that the only thing that would make an American public support more intervention in the Middle East would be a catastrophic event of pearl harbour proportions, this was 2 years before 9/11.
