hi,
I am a year 11 student working towards my final project where we have to solve a problem from 3 choices, i have chosen to do smarter living and am trying to solve the problem of wobbly tables/chairs. Any help or tips on how to build my models or any help you can give me on this topic would be helpful.

Isn't the solution to have a three legged table?
In the same way that milking stools are never wobbly.

Otherwise for me it would an arduino, tilt detectors, a Piezo longitudinal actuator on one or three of the table legs and lots of programming.

Or a beer mat.

When you say smarter living, does that imply you have to over complicate it to make it seem smart?

Otherwise I think the simplest answer beyond already mentioned, level floors, will be found within photography.

Level floors wont solve wobbly chairs/tables, non wobbly chairs/tables wont necessarily be level. 3 options you need-
1) As mentioned, 3 legged will not wobble
2) I prefer sitting on the floor (at home), my derriere is stable.
3,) My favourite, independent telescopic legs

In IT'S Tool shop they sell a blow up cushion to help hanging doors. This on a smaller scale may well be the answer.

A big counterweight and the building on rubber pads would mean that when the table wobbles, the building would wobble the opposite way and cancel the wobble out.

Combine this with a gyroscope, tiny pistons and a smart app means that you could also order a pizza.
