Foreign Two wire pendant lamp

Hi guys
I am quite brave to take on an DIY work at home but missus won't let me with this electric issue .bought a ceiling lamp from Turkey which came with only two wires sticking out and no earth wire. Added two photos to show the witing and what it should lool like lit .Dont

think it is double insulated as there is no symbol etc. It's made out of a brass looking material .can I ask for any advice of how I can connect it please. And any idea what electric shops charge roughly for re-wiring ?

the lamp won't care which is neutral and which is line......a proper spark will be along in a while.

No way that can be double insulated or suitable for use in the UK.
The brown wires shown are only single insulation, there are exposed metal parts with no earth, and that makes it a Class 0 appliance. None of which would be permitted for sale in the UK.

It needs to be completely rewired, probably with new lampholders as well.

Wouldn't charge a fortune I wouldn't think. Probably an hour + parts to do the job.

Put a small lighting transformer above the ceiling and run it off 12 volts with car LED bulbs inside. You only need it to glow prettily.

If from Turkey the lampholders are likely to be non British standard ES fittings , therefore the centre pin of an Es lamp must be the Live contact, otherwise the Lamp thread could be lethal

Being pedantic ELV Extra Low Voltage,

I have done similar with a 12 volt AC transformer and incandescent lamps and lamps holders from a car spares shop. LED lamps will not give good results as the light is directional and the spectrum may not have all the colours resulting in some of the glass pieces looking darker than other pieces
