24 Dec - update - Grundfos pump still runs constantly

Get him to isolate the greys, one by one, going into the motorised valves.
(assuming all two-port)

But it doesn't appear to be a fault with the zone valve switches....everythings been replaced except the wiring.

Thank you Gasguru and Polesapart. The live 240v feed was coming from the orange wire on the Drayton heating zone actuator (it’s the 3rd new one that has been fitted last week). You are right - they are two port. The engineer stripped the actuator down to see if the orange and grey were stuck together. So, he’s just replaced the whole actuator - it’s the fourth new one now. I’ll come back with an update in due course...

I reckon they’ve put switched live from programmer to a common orange wire.
I’d disconnect everything and start again tbh.

Thank you Jeff. It has been suggested that the next thing BG heating electrician will do is to strip down the wiring junction box in the cupboard and start afresh, if the problem persists.

What I can’t understand is that why did the first new actuator last 6 weeks, but now they’re barely lasting hours before the pump issue kicks in again. I’ll suggest that they do the same with the programmer. I just need closure from the whole darn fiasco. It’s not helping me health wise - I can’t afford to be stressed as I’m recovering from a mini stroke as it it.

The black cable that is attached to the actuator head? Each of the new Drayton actuators came with their own black cable attached to the unit (apologies if I’m wrong here and you mean something else)

I just wish some of you were up North near me,so you could fix my fault (I’d pay you) And then I’d make BG reimburse me! I live in hope my friends.

10 visits by BG and still same fault is shocking!.

Seems like they're randomly throwing parts at it..
