Best Car For Newly Qualified Driver

I've been looking more at electric/hybrid but the biggest put off is the batteries. High milage second hand units strike me as something that will cost a fortune in replacement batteries and as for new or nearly new theyre too expensive and not at all practical for what I want.

No one has really hit the market with what I'd consider a value for money electric run about that can be an affordable second motor to the long distance alternative. Certainly a long way off replacing my van and pickup but my focus I thought it might be possible .

perhaps the American approach to motor vehicles makes sense if you assume that the purpose is to maximise the sale of oil and the sale of vehicles.

A car that was economical to run, or was dependable and lasted a long time, would not meet those requirements.

But the best selling cars in America are generally 3l or less and not always American brands. Would have been a reasonable assumption 30 years ago. Not now however.

Toyota and Honda have the biggest share of the domestic market. Commercials are the best selling based on single models.

Cheapest insurance so far is an Aygo diesel and it's £900.

But it's a bit small, and 5 door diesel Aygos are very thin at the right price range.
