Having had our kitchen completely relocated to another area of our house I'm planning on converting the old kitchen into a play/gaming room for my 2 sons.

The project is 99% complete but I've now realised that I should have relocated the lightswitch that controls 3 outside lights. The switch is located inside the kitchen at the back door.

Any suggestions as to how I could possibly relocate or wirelessly control these lights from our new kitchen?

Bugg,
Not a perfect (or evebn great) solution, but.......
Leave light switch where it is and switched on.
Buy: Kightsbridge Weatherproof Outdoor - Remote Controlled Switch Boxes
Then put this box outside on cable going to lights.
Then use remote in Kitchen.

Or chnage outsid lights to movement senstive ones, or add PIR to them to switch them on.

I feel the "Change all lights to PIR units" might be my solution but from experience I'd probably be walking into dark areas waiting on activation of each unit. We have a small woodland in very close proximity at the back of the house. I'd also worry that on windy nights the tree movement would start a disco at the back of my house.

The wiring to these three separate lights is pretty concealed to the point that I don't think they're daisy chained.

I was hoping for some sort of RF remote control and internal switch but unless I'm wrong my belief is that such a switch would require a permanent live feed.

Have you had a look inside the switch yet to see if there is a neutral- might get lucky, if you do there are loads of options
Or the outside light might be on its own circuit- if so again loads of options

Otherwise trace the switch pair back til you find a neutral or put whatever receiver you pick in a waterproof enclosure at the first of the fittings in the line

Bugg,
So I am never in the dark, I have two stand alone PIR's bi-wired, and one at each end of pathway so that eiher will swtch onb all the lights and ensure that not in dark.
They are on a longish time so no disco effect.
But yes trees, cats, and ghosts do randomly set them off, and although the LED bulbs are v cheap to run, their being on when no-one is there does annoy me much much more than it should.

I do need to do a bit digging about/testing before I come up with a final solution. The outside wiring just seems to pop out from behind soffits etc, I'd rather keep any additional wiring to a minimum.

Have a look at the cost of running a 4W LED lamp, all night, on a photocell, for a year.

The cost is trivial, and less that the cost of a PIR.

You could even run it 24hours a day and save money, if you could put up with the interfering busybodies.

Or (and steady yourselves, everyone, as this is a bit of a radical idea) you could have a switch at each end of the path.
