MP Mark Field accused of assaulting Greenpeace activist

Have I got this right?

Because, as it turned out, the woman was harmless, no one is allowed to touch her. How do we know?
Is it that we must presume all white women are harmless?

Can you imagine a scenario where Field would be a hero instead?

Paddling up the wrong creek.

Who said no one is allowed to touch her?

Imagine a scenario where you don't need to create a hypothetical scenario to justify actual events.

She should have been made to sit down, listen, and politely-applaud; she'd have probably begged the rozzers to haul her away, after such an ordeal.

No, it's not about backbone or authority, it's about decorum and behaving well when holding an influential position.

If it were a Labour woman MP and a man making a prat of himself, believe she would be applauded by those who criticise Mr Fielding.

I don't believe for one second that he genuinely thought she was armed. The look on his face was one of anger and annoyance - rightly so. I would have been much rougher with her, were it me being interrupted.

Greenpeace are just looking to score points, by their complaints about assault.

He said rougher. Not that he would beat her up.
Well I'm just working out what ' much rougher' might mean given that MP had slammed her against a pillar and grabbed her round the back of her neck before forcing her out of the room...

Not defending Harry's comment are you?

If Harry said he would beat her up then no I'm not defending him. But he wasn't.

I would say fielding looked to me to be a pompous stuck up upper classed tosser in that clip. But what did she expect?

'Grabbing' - or holding appropriately - the back of the neck is a way of subduing people and animals.

How would you attempt to persuade an intruder in your house to leave?

Well I guess we'll have to wait and see exactly what Harry himself meant by "I would have been much rougher with her" won't we...
