MP Mark Field accused of assaulting Greenpeace activist

It was not his job to react the way he did, he's an MP and should behave better. He should've left it to the security guards to sort out as then nobody would've blinked an eyelid.

wonder if there are any people who are not violent and bad tempered, who can keep calm?

Yes, there are

Surely it wouldve been more appropriate to give a recent example?

How about Farage and a milkshake?

I wonder why you didnt choose that :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

True but he's a gimp and as prime minister i would expect a bit more of a reaction. Just like Theresa May and that comedian, i would of stopped and said 'Excuse me clowns were not invited to this event...now leave before i throw you out myself' Something with a bit of authority, which is what this country lacks at times, someone with a backbone not afraid of what offence may be caused (ok maybe not 2Jags style).

And talking of Miliband had that been David campaigning as Labour leader we could well be sitting with a Labour government today (not that id like it much but he's way more credible than that gimp)
No, it's not about backbone or authority, it's about decorum and behaving well when holding an influential position.

your attachment does not support your allegation.

However, I was very interested to read "Overall, ethno-nationalist and separatist attacks accounted for the largest proportion (137) of the attacks. More than half of these (88) were security-related incidents in Northern Ireland."

So we have more to fear from the NI extremists.

I wonder if Brexit's new border controls, due to Conservative refusal to accept an agreement, and the return of paramilitary criminal gang cross-border smuggling, will make things better or worse.

What do you think?

Assault is assault...

As has been pointed out, the guy with the milkshake got done and he didn't even lay a finger on garbage...

Being an out of touch tory doesn't allow you to be above the law!

Yet the "police escorted" gang of MDL masked thugs in Oldham, who were throwing bricks, stones etc, towards women and children, while the "police escorts" looked the other way, did get off with it. I wonder WHY??

Ohh, and let's not forget the Peterborough by election postal vote rigging scandal, that seems to have been swept under the carpet,,, again,, I wonder why???

Indeed.

I can understand why he got angry, it must be annoying to go to a posh do and have it potentially ruined, but he shouldve kept his cool and let the correct people deal with it.

By reacting he has played into the protestors hands -they have now got front page coverage, much greater than if Mark Field hadnt done anything.

Im actually not sure if the protestors have stengthened or weakened public support!

He has now been suspended

He's been suspended.

Copied from a Twitter:

*Nigel Farage hit with milkshake*
The right: “THIS VIOLENT ASSAULT MUST NOT GO UNPUNISHED.”

*Jo Brand jokes about throwing acid*
The right: “SACK HER! LOCK HER UP!”

*Mark Field aggressively assaults woman on camera*
The right: “To be fair, she did interrupt his dinner.”

I get it and agree about decorum but ffs but she should be the one being reprimanded here. We are creeping towards a pathetic helpless doormat society.

Have I got this right?

Because, as it turned out, the woman was harmless, no one is allowed to touch her. How do we know?
Is it that we must presume all white women are harmless?

Can you imagine a scenario where Field would be a hero instead?

Funnily enough did you notice there was a non white woman there noone touched her.

Or to look at it another way:

*Nigel Farage hit with milkshake*
*Jo Brand jokes about throwing acid instead of milkshake*
*Labour MP Jo Cox murdered*

Then when a bunch of protestors pile into an event, one of them doesn't get stopped by security and tries to get round to the chancellor whilst clutching something in her hands, Mark Field blocks the protestor and forces her out of the room.

I think he should be commended, not suspended.
