Well, as you won't answer the questions, perhaps you will tell us why you think immigrants in London, and specifically Plaistow, are a new phenomenon.
Well, to answer your question, I think immigrants in my part of London (I won’t speak for others as I have no experience of them) is a 'new' (by new, I’m talking in the last 30 years) phenomonem is that slum and overcrowded accommodation rooms run by unscrupulous landlords are available, the local borough bends over backwards to accommodate them (typical example - park for 2 minutes in an an empty residents parking bay and you’ll get a ticket but it’s okay for 50 cars to completely block a street and triple park on double yellow lines near a mosque for Friday prayers, no problem), there is an existing 'community' of their own country folk and they can blend in a little better than they would in say a Cotswold village. There you go, your turn now. What’s you experience of Plaistow?

Full of Foodies, public school types.... oh hang on, that's Padstow. Plaistow, two stops short of Barking

Mot,

I think, for your sanity, you should move to another part of the country - yes, I know you think you shouldn't have to but it isn't exactly the best place to live anyway, is it?

Of course, you will be an immigrant and the locals might resent you.

Well for one thing, EU citizens were left in limbo for a long time over their status and even when 'settled status' was agreed, it still doesnt offer EU citizens British citizenship.
'Were' left in limbo?

They still are - because 'settled status' hasn't been agreed yet, and the terms of this second class status still hasn't been finalised!

UK citizens in the EU/EEA area are also in the same boat - and are being used as political pawns by the UK government!
(remember, it's the UK that wants to leave the EU, not the other way around)

But just out of interest, why should EU citizens be offered British citizenship?

My partner isn't interested in becoming a citizen of a xenophobic nation, but has spent her entire working life here.
Brought up children, has a friend/family network and contributed far more than the average person in this country.
But she is still a national of another country because of where she was born.
All was fine until the misguided fools decided that the rights she held for decades are now up for ransom!

And I still haven't had an answer from any quitter to a very simple question ...

What does the average UK/EU/EEA citizen get to gain from the UK leaving the EU?

What’s you experience of Plaistow?

it is a busy East End district with a high proportion of immigrants and foreign workers, as it has been for at least three hundred years. They tend to move on and out as they become more settled and/or prosperous, so the population is fluid and its mix changes. it has one of the country's most diverse populations. It has less anti-immigrant and racist feeling than districts with small numbers of immigrants.

People who are not local often pronounce it Play-stow.

It's surprisingly close to Wanstead Flats (levelled by the unemployed as a form of relief) which some people mistakenly think are in Wanstead.

Depending which way you approach, you may see signs for Bow Locks, a constant source of amusement.

It's fairly handy for the old docks, where my late father used to work.

Why don't you tell us which side your grandfather was on, when the Blackshirts tried to march through the East End?

Been to Plaistow today.. Should be there again at the end of the week. A couple of fellas placing their red bulls by a shop, as if putting them down was not littering. I shouted out of my window there's a bin a little further on. Sorry was not mad about the place.

John. Bye all means we can all have a go at each other, but bringing others family members into it is right.

Politics can often be an inherited family affair. Perhaps it would explain Motmans's hatred of foreign people.
Where do you get it that I hate foreign people? I just hate ponces that take from society without putting anything in and that includes British people as well.

So Google is your experience of Plaistow then. Lol. I have no idea what side my grandfather was on when the blackshirts marched. All I knew was he drove us mad every Christmas with stories of his exploits in the war. "Grandad" we used to say, "We don’t want to hear how many Jews you gassed in the war, it’s nothing to be proud of"..........

great Ormand street hospital is owed £50,000 ,000 by foreigners ;)

So where are they ?

Right next door to Wanstead, I used to live in Wanstead and they were right there, just a few minutes walk from the house.
