BBC bias

didn't feel the beeb was biased during the election which was a bit of a surprise - they certainly have come over as biased with brexit, but this election, not really.

Did you see all the examples though? Listening to Laura Kuenssberg, I'm more convinced than ever of her preference to the conservatives.

the problem with spotting bias is that you don't normally see it if it is on your side (is that confirmation bias?) And with my sheer dislike of corbyn I was for this brief moment in time a tory, so may be I didn't pick up on it. I thought the coverage was quite neutral, but may assuming coverage is neutral is a sign that bias exists?

Brexit was different, I was genuinely on the fence with this, and it was the obvious bias towards remain that eventually had my sympathise lying with the leavers. Just loved watching the BBC presenters squirm as those first few results started to come in, the shock and realisation on their little faces was something quite to behold.

I don't find the BBC to be terribly bias, certainly not as obvious as other media outlets. But what I do find is that they are pretty thin on the ground with reporting facts that are already out there - like if a murder or a victim has been named everywhere else, the BBC don't name them for some time. I don't know why, perhaps worried they'll be sued if they're wrong. Perhaps they are still smarting over Cliff Richard!

Even if the BBC is biased toward remaining, is that a bad thing IF they (the reporters with actual knowledge) believe leaving is detrimental to the country?
Do you want them to lie about what they believe - like the MPs who ARE remainers but now campaign for leaving.

There have been complaints that the BBC is too balanced sometimes.
For example, when the subject of climate change is discussed, they have been 'accused' of including people who disbelieve it - usually Nigel Lawson.
This is considered irresponsible because he is not an 'expert' in the field and denying climate change is taboo among its supporters.

Would you like the BBC to be balanced on paedophilia and include views from people who do not think it is a bad thing?

If the BBC disagree with 'Dave down the pub', does that mean they are biased.

It is not fact though is it!...It is economic guesswork of 50 years hence when they cannot say for defo even the sterling rate tomorrow

I think the climate change argument is v difficult to argue against now..The state of the UK /EU / Scotland economics even in 12 months is a bit more tricky!!!

It was crass for CH4 to empty chair BJ/JC with the ice scultures and also crass for BBC to permit Andrew Neil to deliver a personal monologue to camera complaining of BJ refusal to be interviewed.
Is that bias?

Its ironic that Johnson chickens out of being interviewed because he is worried which lies might be exposed is the same person howling like a baby about it being unfair.
