X800 for a hour or X400 for a week or two?

Im about to powerflush my (not been touched for 10 years) heating system (7 radiators).
Will X800 for an hour or so work as well as X400 would for a week?

And can X400 be left in for longer? will it be OK for 2 weeks+ ?

I mean powerflush, we have a power flusher at work that I can borrow to do the job, I',m told its relatively easy to do just time consuming.

Why not use X800 Ian? The gas guy Im talking t o at work suggests using X800 and leaving it in for several days before flushing it all out.

I was thinking of emptying the system first (This Sunday) to get rid of all the existing dirty stuff that's floating about, refilling then adding chemical - waiting until the next Saturday then flushing it all out and replacing with clean water. Then see about getting the boiler serviced.

X800 is extremely aggressive and can not be left in, it will eat pump bearings and pinhole radiators if you dont get it all out, use the x400

Nope X200 is of no use for what you want, of Course sentinel will not admit on their website that X800 is aggressive, try it and see, I just do this for a living and no way will I ever use it again

Why do you want to Powerflush it what's wrong. Is it convential system, pressurised or combi?

Its a combi.
Why not flush it? its not been touched for 10 years+, its using microbore and never been powerflushed while I have been here, likely never before.
It is however not doing as well as it should.

If its twin entry microbore valves then Powerflushing is a waste of time.
Age of system has very little revlevance on whether a system needs flushin especially in a sealed system such as a combi

If you have a microbore system using manifolds you might cause more harm than good powerflushing it

Its a Greenstar SI25 combi, just outputting into 22mm pipe with some 10mm pipe dropping down to some of the radiators.
TBH its not a very good setup/system - the combi was fitted to an old system 11 years ago, lots of the pipework and most of the radiators really need replacing as it's not very good at warming the house.

Powerflushing wont likley make a great deal of difference on microbore. I would be more tempted to use the likes of the Magnacleanse kit with the radiator agitator, followed by a mains flush (which is how any magnacleans shoud be performed)

X800 is a very effective cleaner, but as previously said, if theres even a drop of it left in the system afterwords it will be pump replacement after pump replacement until its completely gone. Not a fan of sentinel chemicals myself. Always went for fernox in the past and now would use Adeys stuff after being on their training course and getting more detailed info on it.

10mm pipe is not microbore, microbore is 8mm pipe
