This is the entire delivery of #PPE for a surgery with 4 GPs, ACP, PN and HCA. Weeks of lies and waiting, then this. How can safe care be delivered with this insulting token?

I've just taken a delivery from dpd man (birthday pressie).

Driver went through the "I can't hand it to you" routine.
I said to him that the roads must be a joy for him at the moment. He agreed .

He then told me that our local health centre had refused a delivery of hand sanitisers.
When I asked him why, he just shrugged and said that he didn't know, but that they're still in the van.

Don't know why he offered my that piece of news, over anything else he'd experienced today .......

Maybe it was plastic wrapped so didn't want to wait 72hrs before touching it or 24 if cardboard.

;) I'm as bad. Picked up a plastic sack of dog food and left it in the car for 4days. A lady at the place it came from was down with it. They just sell dog food.

Need to cut my hair - ordered something. It should arrive next Saturday - can I catch it via my scalp?

Wife needed new washing line. Decided to remove plastic wrap, dispose of and dunk line and my hands in soapy water.

CCG will be on them asking as to why. The problem is each CCG has a different plan of action.

Some CCGs have asked surgeries to keep doors open (Government advice) even though the surgeries do not have PPE Equipment. So either they close their doors and staff don't get ill so can carry on working. Or, Open up and staff get ill so they have to reduce their services or close until staff are better.

Some CCGs have created hot sites or left a central GP surgery open and closed doors to others so they can centralise what little supplies they have in one place.

Politics is always about jam tomorrow that usually doesn't come. This time they are dealing with something real. While you may be unaware of it the uk has a pandemic of another type that crops up in all sorts of areas - all's ok if it can be shown to be some how. Ie they may have 20,000 items on order but no info on when they may arrive or on how long it took them to decide to do it. Another which is in some ways typical - police reducing crime figure by not recording them. That was by not giving people crime numbers unless they really pushed for them. CV testing - seems the chemicals aren't a problem, tubes and swabs may be but the real problem behind it is probably turn round time and the number of people to be tested. It has been a couple of days. Seems the Koreans got it down to 2hrs and now 12 on people coming into the country. It's still a long time for lots and lots of people.

The real problem is them being able to say what ever they like. Forecasts that aren't met and no comeback, they will always find something that says they are good at what they do.

:) Corbyn's jam would have been pretty concrete. Clearly it's better to just offer jam, it gets them elected.
