I thought that but on closer look and talking to a boat person it looked as if it had a fungus. It was in River. The ponds round hear used to be heaving of gold fish.
You can see the size compared with the beer can someone kindly chucked in
I’d say a carp too, or at least not a pike, going by that dorsal fin.
Someone probably emptied their pond out.

As they are dissimilar metals, would they not create a small electric current between them (given some moisture between them, in the soil)?

Should have been a bit clearer, you p8n them on raised beds,and theory being slugs dont like copper anyway, when they connect the zinc n copper together its much more unpleasant for them.

Discovered a sheep on her back whilst out for my constitutional this morning......managed to get her up (unbelievable weight, took all my strength but managed it somehow).
Unfortunately she had rolled onto one of her lambs and crushed it
it seemed to have a dislocated shoulder and had been dead for a bit.
Felt wretched all day.

Sorry John, but can you image the Police coming along and seeing you man-handling a sheep. Not a good look.
