I’m a changing my downstairs toilet, when looking into the dimensions of the new one I have a few questions about the pan connector. I have attached a couple of photos of my current connector too. Which comes from the side wall, turns 90 degrees and into the pan. The other photo is the rough style of toilet I want/need.

I know I need some ‘cutout’ to allow the side entry but as you can see the current one has loads of room but the new one only has enough room for a pan connector plus a bit of wriggle room. Is there a flexible elbow connector that’s best to use so I can bend it closer the wall and then 90 into the pan?

Hope that makes sense!

EDIT: Just look and those photos of my current connection are deceiving, the current pipe is further away from the wall than it looks, I need to go back towards the wall about 20mm

Not possible to fit new toilet at 90° straight into the soil?

Not unless you want to Barnsley kiss the wall in front of you when sitting down ;) it’s a small downstairs toilet, where it is is where it has to go.

Search for "SWAN NECK PAN CONNECTOR" - It may even be too close ! But watch out for flushing problems. I think the Swan neck is designed to go downwards where an the old soil pipe was in the floor so better check if it will work horizontaly.

I prefer rigid pipework but this might help if it is too awkward https://www.toolstation.com/mcalpine-wc-con8f-flexible-wc-connector/p71620

This is what I wHat I was looking at apart from the shorter version. I don’t know why but they recommend this longer version for horizontal and the short for vertical, but I’m sure this long one will be too big for my setup. They look identical to me apart from the length, why would they not recommend the shorter one on a horizontal run?

Sorry, I can't see where it says you can't use it horizontally

Hmm it says “Ideal for installation in the vertical position”. I guess you’re right it doesn’t mean you can’t use horizontally :)

You are also looking at back to wall WC connectors which you don't need. I linked you to a different one earlier which should hopefully do the trick.

I could be wrong but I don’t think the one you linked has a long enough run on the toilet end. The pan connector on the new toilet is 155mm from the wall. I can’t see how that would reach but the back to wall version has 214mm. I’ve attached the two dimension diagrams.
Am I missing something?
