One of my domes are no longer providing night vision. I’ve restarted the system, unplugged the Ethernet and done a reset by holding down the button inside the camera.

None of this has fixed the issue. Is it knackered or is there something else I would try?

so it works during the day and the IR doesn't come on at night?

did it default successfully?

You been having issues with this setup for a while now?

Yes. The night vision is pitch black. It used to have Infra Red which provided decent night vision. This has completely stopped.

did it default successfully?
I am not sure to be honest. I have held the reset button down for 1 minute and then waited for the camera to come back online after powering up. This hasn't solved the issue.

Probably unrelated issues. A series of power cuts may have damaged the system as it has shutdown unexpectedly but not since I last posted about that issue. I am continuing to monitor this. The infrared issue predates the shutdown issue.

Hmm just its being going on that long it doesnt make any sense to say it pre dates it (lost).

if you can log into the camera you can default it in the maintenance menu, but you could try the camera on a POE switch or a different channel. It does sound like something has gone or a setting hasnt reset.

if you default the camera successfully then it should reset completly.

have you been flashing the cameras?

Even if the factory settings hasn't fixed it, just take a moment looking into the camera settings where you'll find the Day/Night setting. Just make sure it hasn't latched up at the Day setting, which means the infra-red is switched off. It should be set to Auto.

Never flashed the cameras.

I think my previous attempts of holding down the reset button inside the dome hadn't worked as the camera name never defaulted back to "camera1". I have now tried both of these options:

On each occasion, the camera rebooted and the name defaulted to "camera1". Unfortunately, the night vision is still not working.

This is set as follows by default:

This is not enabling the infrared lights. even if I set this to "night", it isn't having any affect.

Tried a different channel on the NVR. Didn't make a difference.

Thanks for all your help and would welcome any further suggestions you may have.

I have since come across this:

This hasn’t made a difference too. I welcome any suggestions that you may have.

Can the IR assembly be replaced or is it time to replace the camera?

There are companies that do repairs if you can find them, the question comes down to cost and if its better to have a new camera with a full 3 warranty

I have one of these currently:

It's situated indoors and seems to have worked well. Should I replace with the same or is there a better option? I am conscious that this was purchased 4-5 years ago.

a better option depends on what you need it to do?

a 6mm lens inside it looking at the door as you walk in?

It's indoors and monitoring the door entrance. It's hung on the ceiling and around 4 metres from this door. I need it to work during the day and night and produce decent image quality. I also opted for the dome instead of the "pointy" cameras as these feel less intrusive.

Hi All, do you have any recommendations on what I should replace this done camera with please?

If it's indoors, can you have a light on at night?
An LED lamp uses very little power, and you'll get far more useful pictures in colour than the ones you get from IR.
