Looks ok wiring wise. What boiler is it? Have you tested the wiring? Also did it work beforehand?

It worked before hand no issues tado confirmed the wiring looked ok but just wouldn’t work so I re-wired the old thermostat and now that isn’t working either one minute it’s firing up the next it’s not

we have a baxi 100he combi boiler

we do have a little bit of a strange setup as we also have a gledhill system mate up stairs which provides all the hot water but from what I have been told the boiler is what does the heating only

I replaced the mechanical thermostat a few years ago without issues for the salus rt300 and that has worked perfectly up until this point

I do have boiler cover so might have to get them out to look at it

If your old one is hit and miss, I’d say it’s more likely the boiler, or any zone valves connected.

Thank you for your help I’ve found that if I switch the boiler off for a few minutes then back on the heating kicks in but only for about 10-15 minutes and even though the thermostat hasn’t reached the right temp it shuts the heating off again

think you maybe right it being the boiler I will go bleed all the radiators just in case but if not call the boiler cover people tomorrow and let a professional have a look

Boiler thermostat turned up? No isolation valves closed underneath the boiler?

Yeah I have turned it up to 27 just in case as for the isolation valves these haven’t been touch only me and my partner here and neither of us have touched anything on the boiler

27oc on the thermostat normally only have it set to around 22oC

sorry didn’t really us mean the boiler stat don’t think it has one the boiler is very basic

not much under the boiler to fiddle with anyway

I must admit after moving the box we have around the boiler I can hear a running water sound but everything is dry

It should still have one, might be worth a check, although doubt it’s going to be that. I’d check your motorised valve.

Thanks again for your help I will find some diagrams on line and see what I can find tomorrow

it’s such a complicated system with the gledhill system for the water we have had 6 plumbers here before scratching there heads looking at each other before but the heating is the basic side of it as it’s really only a combi

thanks again

It’s not a combi - it’s a sealed heating only boiler. The other issue could be the Gledhill - but I’ve not dealt with these before.

Sorry I don’t know the right terminology I know it heats the radiators lol give me a pc any day of the week

the gled hill unit was fully serviced and had a few parts replaced about 3 months ago which was done by gledhill we have a service and repair contract with them for this system which does include the boiler as well which we took out as they are the only people that seems to know anything about these systems

since bleeding all the radiators a couple of times the system has stayed on for the last 30 minutes so I’m hoping that it working again and will give the tado another go tomorrow fingers crossed

thank you so much for you help I really appreciate it

Could it be the tado is just more sensitive or something ?

Thanks again for your help will give you an update once I fitted it again tomorrow

I didn’t think it would be as really it’s just a switch
