Great news on the vaccine!!

It’s an inoculation. A jab like we had at school. It needs a second one . A “booster “ I suppose. Same as the others.

Yes but does it mean it only works for 9 out of 10 people, or does it reduce the amount of disease you get by 90%, or something else.
It works on 9 out of 10 people.
"The company said that the analysis found that the vaccine was more than 90 percent effective in preventing the disease among trial volunteers who had no evidence of prior coronavirus infection. If the results hold up, that level of protection would put it on par with highly effective childhood vaccines for diseases such as measles. No serious safety concerns have been observed, the company said".

Works for 9 out of 10 people, you either have a pathological viral load or you don't.

No comments from the sunshine gang then?
Don’t be daft, it’s good news. Not what they are looking for at all. They will probably say that Boris bought 40 million doses of tap water from a bloke that used to deliver milk to Boris's sisters mates sons girlfriends classmate who once put 40p in a Tory collection tin.

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

The really good news is that almost all of the productive vaccines in progress use the same technique to create the protection so we may well end up with several viable vaccines.

Should we need to modify and adapt during a "season" or for each season it will give more flexibility.

How will this be managed though?
For instance, presumably the vaccine is intended to allow a return to normal life.
Which must be to some extent dependent on actually having been vaccinated?
If so, you'd logically have to prove so?

Well, one of the questions they need to answer now is does a vaccinated individual still shed virus in an asymptomatic manner. If so then the rest of the populous are still vulnerable. If not then happy days.

The bad news is they don’t know how log the antibodies last for obvious reasons & it has to be transported at “hyper freezing “ temperatures. Africa & even India will have to completely change there transportation infrastructure apparently.

Actually, only 8 out of 10 cats "preferred" it. Get your FACTS straight sonny!
