Just back from dropping my cat off to the Royal Vet Hospital in Potters Bar. My local vet screwed up big time today after a routine x-ray at a mere £700, (she has a leg that occasionally gives her trouble at the mo), they overdosed her 5 times the recommended max dose of painkiller by not following their own safety protocol.
So our poor cat, instead of being home and recovering all safe and snug had to be driven a fair distance to a better animal hospital. She is now hooked up to a IV drip, being pumped full of meds to try and bind the overdose to it to be flushed out instead of it attacking her organs and will be in this situation for at least 48 hours. We've got to hope that she doesn't suffer kidney failure or stomach problems. I am proper angry and so very worried. The vets kept saying it was an accident.. told em an accident is dropping a mug or stubbing your toe, not following safely protocols over medications is negligence.

That’s terrible! Fingers and everything else crossed for you and your cat.

Don't worry, I'm not popping over. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

But you must be quite local to go to Potter bar.

Andy
Not so local any more. We had to wait for a decent animal hosptial with 24hr care to get back to us with a place available. It was either P.Bar or Dick White hospital in Cambs. She needs specialist care right now and those places are few and far between.

Thanks Mottie. Our house isn't a happy house right now with her not here and the worry :( Just hope she pulls through.
