Only posties wear shorts in the winter.
I've got shorts on just now but I'm in La Palma lol.

Its a trendy thing to do, I used to wear shorts for work in Australia, but carried a boiler suit in the van for any dirty stuff, when I was office based in another job in Africa, shorts were allowed but had to be worn as part of a Safari Suit with long socks and formal shoes.... I wore long trousers

Jim... wear what is comfortable... I would wear trousers in the winter.
Shorts are not ideal for construction work. All be it I will wear in the summer.
I wear Snickers workman trousers because they fit so well , make me look hunky and protect my knees.

If your work mates do wear shorts in the winter they are most probably doing it for image..... Your health is the most important thing.

It's a strange anomaly that it my youth, kids wore shorts and adults wore trousers. Now it's the other way around. Unless you're working somewhere that has tropical temps in winter, I would stick to trousers.
