Afternoon all,
Noobie post.
I've acquired a Miele heat pump dryer (T8866 WP) from the ebay, it not currently working, but I like a project! Once inside, its clear the carbon brushes need replaced and these are on order from ebay.
But I want to test the other components. it was quick to get the dryer into service mode. Its completely caked in dust from the old owner.
But without a guide I'm just guessing at the sequence of the components during the component test (some are obvious - ie the first one turns the drum!).
I've searched everywhere and cannot find the order of merit for the component test – does anyone know this?
I assume that’s the business model – that only miele service engineers know the technical detail, but wanted to test this forum.
Only one fault in the register (F55) which I assume/hope replacing the brushes will fix...I assume if other failure points were present these would also be the error log (ie it can hold more than one fault code?).
I’m also trying to work out how to get the drum out – as the dust has ingresses all round the drum front seal. This post is really helpful but as its for a condenser, its slightly different – my plan, unless others say otherwise – is to put on its back then release rear bearing case.
Reason being that while the condenser/evaporator unit is in a sealed box, given the level of crud, I wanted to clean them both – and to get this the drum needs to come out. Given it’s a Miele, the condenser looks very accessible but I’ve not found any videos or guides for this. Will post details here if there is interest.
This guy is brilliant and his videos on a similar LG heat pump dryer inspired me to get one and have a play.
All tips/videos/guides or thoughts welcome!
