We will vaccinate our hamsters before we give spare vaccines to you, Hancock tells EU
28th January 2021

THE health secretary has told the EU that British cats, dogs and hamsters will get the vaccine before they consider shipping spares across the channel.

Matt Hancock responded to the EU’s vaccine shortage by promising that every dose of British vaccine would be used on British soil, no matter how wasteful.

He said: “We have left the EU. We owe the EU nothing. These vaccines are British and they will be injected into Britons on British soil to fight the British variant of the coronavirus.

“My countrymen will be having their second dose of the vaccine. They will have a third dose for good measure. If anyone wants a fourth dose, to be broadcast live on the BBC so Europe can see it, they will get one.

“After that, it is the turn of good British pets. Our dogs first, because a faithful canine companion is worth any six Frenchmen, then our cats, then our budgies, tortoises, goldfish and hamsters.

“If we still have vaccines left then it will be the turn of the trees. The steadfast English oak, of course, then the beech and the elm. And after the trees, the insects.”

Emer Cooke, head of the EU Medicines Agency, said: “I explained that without vaccines, the pandemic would continue. He sang ‘Two World Wars and One World Cup’.”

Good grief. For news sources that one is really digging deep. Are you the editor?

Mrs Scotland and Boris's vote increasing covid politics are increasing again. Boris goes to see the Scots, she says unnecessary travel also applies to the PM. Tender times. Scots elections soon. Lot's of Scots don't like Boris though. LOL Some feel they should have sent some one else but Brown wasn't interested and has retired anyway and they forgot what party he belonged to.

Here is one for John the Plumber.........

It sounds like AZ are in an interesting position. If the media i've read is correct (my usual Tory sources), AZ signed a contract with the UK to deliver 100m doses of the vaccine made in UK factories. That contract also says that those factories can't supply any other country until we've had all our 100m doses.

The EU has signed a best endeavours contract that says that supplies will come from a 4 factories, 2 of which are in the UK. Their agreement was agreed 3 months later than the UK deal. I would expect that legally, the UK deal supersedes the EU deal, so the EU contractually aren't entitled to have any vaccine from UK factories until the UK contract has been fulfilled.

That's conjecture, we don't know what the contract says.

Well now, the Germans wont be needing about 18 million (36m doses) for their pensioners. And if the other countries follow suit, then the EU wont be needing many doses at all - that's even if they get around to approving it!

I love how they at one point, threatened a Trade War with us.

As I understand it the UK has done nothing wrong, so why the threats?

It's not UK that EU are claiming have done anything wrong.

They're upset, because when we're vaccinating our 60 year old group they'll probably still be trying to cover their 70+ groups who need it even more.

There is a decent case to say we should be the better people and volunteer to divert some of our supply to Europe, the vaccines will save more lives there in the short term.

The latest is that the EU want to bring in controls that will give them the power to ban the exports of certain drugs to outside the EU.

We apparently did the same, very quietly, last March.
That's what I like about Boris, sometimes you need a sneaky f***** running the country.(y)
