I work it out by the fact that by letting them beat up a 70 year old man and walk, you're covering up and encouraging their crimes.
Aiding and abetting.
I believe is in the magistrate court act 1980, read about it.
With that reasoning...YOU let them.too.and aided them as much as everyone else!

Explain your twisted reasoning.
How would I be aiding 3 non humans go around beating people if I punished them?
Same twisted logic you dream up saying everyone is responsible...I am a Commy do gooder in your view because I do not think " ""Death by beating"" should be on our statute books!!....Jeez..

So why do civilised societies have a penal system at all?
Who applies this 'retribution'?
most dire ear a Stan countries
and the mad mullahs in Iran
To which question is that an answer?
Leave it to u to work it out ;)
OK, I assume it's your answer to my second question.
In which case you suggest shipping UK's criminals to another country?
Have you considered any mechanism for processing this?
Or was it just another little pile of your typical nonsense?

It doesn't need to work as a deterrent, if the culprits are removed from the gene pool.
Many a politician has been responsible for the deaths of more people from their actions than any mass murderer...

Should they be removed from the gene pool?

After all, as johnny says. "You're as guilty as them as far as I'm concerned by indirectly aiding and abetting them."

It's very difficult to overcome a reflexive response.
Indeed...

And that's why the justice system is a slow one...

Too slow in some circumstances imo, but it does often take the heat out of a situation...

But when there is injustice (often in favour of state institutions) that really stirs things up!

And injustice takes many forms. Imo if you deliberately take a life then it should be a full life sentence, but with continued access to the courts should any new information come to light regarding your possible innocence.
Many a conviction has been overturned with new advances in scientific detection. And who knows what will be possible in the future.

But there are several questions that those who wish to murder 'offenders' may wish to ponder...

How will those advances be fairly applied?
What would they say to the family of a person posthumously cleared of a crime?
Would they actually be prepared to kill an offender themselves, or would they happily pass the job on to a state executioner?

not really.

it is quite popular in countries where justice systems are a bit iffy

For example, Derek Bentley never killed anybody. Did hanging him prevent him committing murders?

How about James Hanratty ?

Timothy Evans?

Stefan Kiszko?

If Hugh Callaghan, Patrick Joseph Hill, Gerard Hunter, Richard McIlkenny, William Power and John Walker had been hanged, would they have committed few murders?

Robert Brown?

Sean Hodgson?

Winston Silcott?

Michael Shirley?

Michael O'Brien, Darren Hall and Ellis Sherwood?

Steven Miller, Yusef Abdullahi, and Tony Paris?

Sally Clark?

Donna Anthony?

Angela Cannings?

Barri White?

How about if you were hanged tomorrow?
Would that reduce the number of murders you commit?

Repeat offenders who murder, would seem to average 3 per year over this 10 year period.

https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-16638227

So over the time line of your suspects, this would equate to roughly 210 murders, from repeat offenders.

Not a fan of capital punishment, but all murderers should face life in jail, with no parole.

dunno what You are on about himmagin

IMO there should be a death sentence for some who have committed crimes

retribution is the order of the day
I could make a list of some who should be executed ;)

transam would not hesitate to pull a lever or press a button that would end there lives

No surprises there.

Fortunately your opinion doesn't carry much weight.

You don't seem to understand the difference between punishment and retribution.
