One should always experience our locals kebab shop, kebabs. They are epic/disgusting. If you're daft enough to order a large donner then I'd challenge anyone to get down to the salad part. They are so big that I'm always tempted to tell them to stop as they pile on the "meat" and chips. Last time I had one, possibly about a year ago I was sweating grease for about a day. Absolutely gross.
It's the sort of food that I'm guessing most people wouldn't touch when sober. I'm imagining the kebab shop owner standing in his window, pointing to the huge greasy meat thing on the pole saying "looks shoite now boys, see you at closing time!"

Starting to get my crop seeds together for the allotment. I have my seed potatoes 'chitting' in the back bedroom, I’m using my own grown runner beans and garlic cloves from last year. Still more to get yet. 
Two hand made almond croissants from our local patisserie. They were bloody massive - practically a meal in themselves! Everything there is hand made on the premises. My daughter used to work there about 15 years ago - the chef comes in at about 4.00 every morning.

It's true very very occasionally I have a hankering for one and it's never been late at night, so there's no excuse whatsoever.
I would guess that one of their large donner kebabs is well over 2000 calories. God know what the fat and salt content are. Probably should be renamed death in Styrofoam.

We had never heard of Donner Kebab until we lived in Sydney in a mainly Turkish suburb, they used to come in flat bread tightly wrapped in foil with all the trimmings, our favourite out let was an old timer with a long white beard in a kiosk type shop, further down Parramatta road the Italian area boasted some great Pizza places, hand thrown and freshly cooked

Bit like a gyro.
I had my first doner kebab on Earls Court Road in 1975, being from the provinces I'd never seen one before, I almost wept with joy after the first mouthful.
In those days they were the size of a burger, you could quite comfortably hold one in your hands and eat it, and although time can play tricks on your memory, I'm sure the meat was something more resembling meat in those days.
In recent years they just seem to get bigger and bigger. Haven't had one for about a year now but we normally get a large one and share it between the two of us.
Got a 6 month car tax rebate on our old car. That will tax our new one for FOUR YEARS!
Arrived today. Mini greenhouse from Aldi. Perfect for bringing on our seedlings before transporting to the allotment. Currently have my seed potatoes chitting in there. Should be planting them out next week.
Mrs Mottie came home with these today. Not sure about them.
