Replacement fluorescent tubes and starters

My mum has 2 fluorescent light fittings as follows:

1) Two tube unit with the following on each of the 5ft tubes: Osram L 58 W/23

2) Single tube unit with the following on the 5ft tube F58W/840

What warm light replacement tubes and starters should I buy? Also are there LED alternatives and if so what tubes and starters?

Energizer sell led tubes (eg eBay). And come with “starter”

Osram 58W 23 was a white tube, equivalent now would be a 58W 835 Tube
58W 840 is a Cool white tube and still exists as a 58W 840 Tube

So both were different colours anyway.

If you want light similar colour to a Light Bulb then opt for colour 835 White Tube

Are you sure the fittings have starters, if so.
All the above tubes use the same FSU starter which is for 58 watt

Note a LED starter is not really a starter as such, it is more like a fuse, many 22 watt LED tubes will work without any rewiring just change the starter for a fuse.

The so called LED alternatives use approx half the power and are half as bright. I replaced a 4 foot 36 watt tube with LED and the first comment I got from the other half was “why do dim?” So it went back and I got a standard fluorescent.

Generally no need to replace the starter when getting a new tube but if you do get the electronic type.

The web quotes 1800 lumens for a 4 foot Energiser tube and around 3500 for a 4 foot fluorescent. Yet many quotes on the web saying LEDs are brighter. I think people must be deluding themselves. Myself, and my other half, definitely find LEDs dimmer as the outputs suggest we should.

I've only used the 6ft versions.

I like all the energizer led products, except G9.
I think energizer have gone out their way to ensure the output is brigher than one would expect to avoid disapointment and poor customer feedback
