Hi all
Putting up a fence by fixing post to a wall on boundary garden wall

Its a new block on flat wall with cement render and some block pillars where we plan on putting the fence posts themselves

The posts will be 3x2 timber essentially fixed to the block pillars using thunderbolts possibly - I dont want to come away from the wall so 3x2s for posts

We are only going 1.5m and most of that is on the lower part of the wall ...I dont want the fence to break the wall - its an awkward one really due to difference in land height each side of wall but getting some good fixings in the lower part of the wall is important

Are thunderbolts the thing to get do you think - was just going to purchase 10x100mm ones but just wanted to make sure really
Thanks

The problem with any fully threaded fixing like thunderbolts, concrete screws etc, is that they don't pull the work-piece in. As per Woody, just use some regular screws and plugs - size 6 heads

We have some (expensive) long Spax screws and some 150mm 6's for chunky timber fixing and loads of brown plugs.

You could also consider chemical anchors.
Lol. Favoured by many a zealous architect along with code 6 lead, 'fixings every 100mm', 200mm concrete and 10 layers of polythene into every floor detail.
