Hi

Quick one, would it be ok to plug the attached into a plug socket on a lighting circuit?

It’s a charger for a dyson v10.

Many thanks

Well it's stated input is 1.0 amps. so in terms of the power it draws it's not a problem.

Yes, that would be OK - but beware, someone (who, in my opinion, you should ignore) will probably be along to say that you shouldn't (in case someone unplugs it and plugs in a vacuum cleaner or fan heater instead!).

Kind Regards, John

That’s great thanks but, the socket is in the loft and I wanted to drop it down into then airing cupboard. Is it ok to plug in a 1 socket 13amp Extension lead into the socket and the plug the charger into the extension lead?

appreciate your help

only ever going to be me using it

I would be very concerned about a Switched Mode Power Unit ( the charger ) being inside an airing cupboard. They get warm in free air... they can get very hot if covered by clothes that prevent them being cooled by moving air.

Sometimes they go faulty and may catch fire.

Ok thanks, so it’s a no I shouldn’t do it but yes as long as it doesn’t get covered in clothes?

I suppose that depends to some extent on how hot it gets inside your airing cupboard -as bernard has said, a 'hot' environment is not the best of places for something electrical which gets 'warm' in normal service, anyway.

Kind Regards, John
