ID cards for Voting

Photo I. D. for voting in elections is being made mandatory according to the Queens speech.
We shall see.

So far the governments track record on being truthful about what it will do is lamentable.

But to actually vote you need your voter registration card (just like your voter paper in UK), and maybe some form of ID.

Not so.
You tell them your name and address and they mark you off their list of voters (electoral roll?).
Sorry, I see my comment was not quite specific enough, and you managed to find ambiguity where none existed.
To vote in France, you need your voter registration card, (usually, but it may not always be required, especially in small villages where everyone is familiar with everyone else)
The voter registration card is just like the voter registration paper in UK.

Is that sufficiently specific to avoid you finding the remotest ambiguity?
I thought my original comment clearly showed that the voter card is similar to the voter paper used in UK, not the practice of having to produce it.

There's certainly been a significant amount of electoral fraud in Slough, predominantly involving people from the Pakistani community, although not exclusively, the worst case being when Lydia Simmonds lost her seat because of fraud, at least on that occasion six people were jailed and a by election was called.
My wife at that time being a council employee usually worked at the polling station and helped with the count and I doubt she had a year where the police weren't called, that was usually for the cases of coercion where husbands decided who their wife or wives would vote for.

Anyone who suggests electoral fraud is insignificant is a fool and anyone who objects to providing proof of identity in order to vote is an even bigger fool.

So you're saying electoral fraud doesn't happen?

How about you tell us the number of people convicted of electoral fraud at the last few elections...

Fillyboy forgets to provide the accurate and further details of the cases:
The Conservative candidate was not elected as he was found guilty of the corrupt practice of personation, corrupt and illegal practices.
Mr Eshaq Khan is from Kashmir, which is mainly Indian. It was he, the conservative candidate and his agents that were imprisoned.
The other case involved the UKIP candidate.
Both the Slough and the Birmingham cases involved postal ballots, which the current ID card proposal will not address.
In other enquiries it has been judged that it is the postal voting that gives rise to the potential for voter fraud. The current ID card proposal does nothing to address that issue.

no polling stations report cases of people turning up to vote only to find that their name has already been crossed off the list.

Can you walk into the bank and withdraw cash without some ID? Why should you be able to vote without your ID then? Or do anything important for that matter? Almost everyone carries their driving license on them, what's wrong with that? This is a genuine question, I cannot understand the aversion towards carrying an official ID card (like drivers license) and be required to produce it, especially to the police if you get stopped.

OK.

Your claim was that "vote early, vote often" was Sinn Fein's election slogan.

I asked you for proof that that was their slogan, and you have given us

"Archives show Britain suspected Sinn Féin of fraud"

"the British government believed 25% of Sinn Féin's vote had been garnered through "intimidation" and "personation""

and

"The documents do not explain where the figure of 25% of Sinn Féin votes being personated is derived from."

And no mention of the phrase "vote early, vote often".

Stop messing about.

Stop responding to questions which posts which are not actually answers.

Start providing actual proof of the veracity of your claims. Or stop making them.
