How so? My double socket (+ USB) is rated at 2A. The Apple charger is a max of 1A.
Many phones and iPADs can pull more than an amp so the combo socket with USB has to charge faster for those devices that need it.
Something about fast charging standard implementation, tells the device it can draw more vs a normal USB.

Most will fit in 25mm these days. But worth checking what they say

and if the USB power module goes faulty it might mean that the MCB and/or RCD for the circuit trips and cannot be reset until the defective socket has been removed.

However, usb-c doesn't have to implement usb-pd (the standard for power delivery/ fast charge).

Trouble is said USB C socket is still generally backed by a basic fixed-voltage charger. I think there is a severe shortage of spare space in the back of a socket which makes it difficult to include more advanced charger implementation.
Hamilton apparently make a USB C power delivery Euro module, but I haven't figured out how to actually buy the thing and in any case adding seperate backboxes for USB charging makes it a dramatically bigger project.
