No fuel.

Various nationalities have a 'look' to them, which gives a fair clue as to their nationality. Likewise when you hear them speak - no need for telepathy at all.

Most of us can work out from an accent, roughly where someone born in the UK is from, I certainly can and there is nothing racial about.

If someone was writing a book they would describe characters and scenes to capture the readers imagination.. same as if your telling a real story. No its not racist

Just don’t mention the Arabs in Covent Garden during Arab season. You’ll be immediately pounced on and labelled racist for daring to mention it.

The very last one in Ripple Road just opposite the cemetery. Took me longer to get out than it did to get on to the pump and fill up as I wanted to turn right to get to the A13 but no bugger was giving way as the traffic builds up by those bloody lights.

Ah, I know the feeling.

I think it's brilliant how some people can detect the nationality of others.
How do they do it? Are they telepathic, or psychic in some way?

Actually, the explanation is much much simpler.
Dagenham has a large Nigerian community. I have many Nigerian mates from school & college from the years I grew up here.

Some Ghanians take offence when you label them as Nigerians. So, I have learnt over the years that Ghanians are a bit darker , they have a burnt skin appearance.
Wonder where my mate David ( whose parents were from Ghana ) is these days. We were born on the same day and were of the same age. How amazing is that?!

Pheromones. Most animals and human beings are born with the ability to "read" another persons pheromones and thus can recognise members of their own family from birth. As humans grow up this ability is lost / ignored due to the conscious mind dismissing the sub-conscious messages created by the pheromones

You claim you can discern the difference between a Nigerian from a Zimbabwean, or a Somalian, or a Nigerien?
There are about 50 countries in Africa and you can tell where someone is from, from their accent, or from their appearance? And you can do this on a garage forecourt without recourse to any reference material?
I'm impressed. I couldn't even list them all without referring to a map.
Do you have any other natural but unusual abilities?

If he had said black your response would have been?
I'm assuming that if they were Nigerian (if they were!), it probably follows that they were also black. So the 'black' probably would have been superfluous.
Unless, that is what he meant, but wanted to avoid using that descriptor in the hope that the inference of being Nigerian carried with it the automatic image that they were black.

That is done to create a picture in the reader's imagination of the characters, not to emulate or reinforce prejudicial views.
Reporting an actual event, and adding a descriptor to the characters is viewed as potentially reinforcing established prejudicial opinions. Like stating that the drivers were female.

The question that I was answering was from AngleEyes

"" I think it's brilliant how some people can detect the nationality of others. ""
Are you suggesting that Android 07 is some kind of primitive animal and he detects other nationalities by their pheromones?
