MDPE for internal install?

1950's Bungalow, on it's original old lead water main. Stop cock is in a cupboard in the middle of the floorplan.

I've had a 25mm Blue MDPE pipe brought up to the bungalow ready to replace the old main, it's earmarked for connection in about 6 weeks. Currently the new pipe terminates at a Brass Stop cock in a cupboard a couple of rooms away from the current Stop cock. There would have been no practical way to take the Blue MDPE all the way in to the current Stop cock without major disruption. The plan was to run a 22mm copper pipe up into the loft and over to the current Stop cock position to meet the supply for the Bungalow.

Just wondering, is it acceptable for me to connect to the Blue MDPE as it comes up out of the ground, with Black MDPE, then run that up into the loft and over instead of using Copper? In that way, I can do it in one length with no joins. Plus I have a roll of Black MDPE spare.

Having read the information on Black mdpe, I can’t see any reason why you can’t do it, as long as it’s clipped and insulated to assist not freezing. You do know you don’t connect onto the old stopcock though, just pipework above it?

Thanks. Yes, that's the idea.

Do you think I should connect the Blue MDPE to the Black MDPE with a normal straight joiner, then have a Stop cock in more favourable position? Or should the Stop cock be at the entry point irrespective of its convenience?

I feel like I'm overthinking it a bit. The house is sold and is in need of renovation, so the new owners may well rip it all out, but I still want to leave it as close to 'proper' as I reasonably can.

If it’s a good entry point, I’d leave it there with the brass one. Like you say, they may rip it out.
