Can anyone suggest a replacement for the Randall 922 that could be replaced by a novice diy-er?
Boiler is still going strong.
Boiler Ideal Icos has had new PCB board, spark plug and generator and fan over the last few years but the timer bit seems a bit tempremental.
Hoping something is available that could be easily swapped over.
Been looking at a Randall FP975 but not sure if this is right or still available.
Thanks in advance

you can upgrade to any two channel programmer, but you will have to change the back plate

Thanks for the reply. When you say 'sjoild' fit the back plate. How sure are you?
Ideally don't want to have to mess too much with wiring?

How difficult is it to replace the back plate?
Do I need an electrician or should I be able to do this myself?

nothing hard in doing it, just a matter of transferring a few wires and screwing the new backplate to the wall

But the wires have to be identified and correctly reconnected on the new back plate.

It always seems easy to me but I am aware that many do not find it so easy. Making a mistake can cause significant damage!
