Had a 1998 Yamaha R1 in today, been sat 10 years and needs recommissioning. Same owner from new.

Noticed it had our plate on it, tuns out I PDI'd it from brand new before he picked it up all those years back.

Nice to see it has been looked after and will make sure it's good as new when he gets it back (full service, all fluids changed, new tyres and clutch work).

Pointless thread really but a bit of nostalgia!.

Had one back in the day. Not for me to be fair , never felt right nor the r6 . much prefered the blade and gsxr 1000. Animal of a machine though.

Im not into Motor bikes but Im going to Donington Park on Sunday.

Mate has got a 350 lc sitting in his garage its not been ridden since about 1986

If it's all original and in one piece that's worth a good lump of money now, I've worked on a fair few over the years.

It's nice to find a spanner monkey these days that can work on the older machines. T'young lads these days can't set points & try to plug the laptops into BSA's :)

I worked on the Isle of man and a mate has a stunning collection of bikes, he had a 350 LC with the powerband, he lent it to me and I took it over the TT mountain, was there all day , was like being a young lad again absolutely loved it, I had a 1000RR blade at the time but the wee LC was so much fun

I remember a car advert years ago. "The car in front is a Toyota". Saw a brilliant mock up with a piccy of two stoke. Caption said "The car in front is just about to get covered in blue smoke".
I sold my 350lc to a breaker for £100 when my son was born. SS stage 2, beckett pipes, full race fairing, welded crank, rearsets, damper, uprated suspension, fork brace, braided hoses etc etc.:cry::cry:

I did a fair bit of work to this a few years back, worth a bloomin fortune now!.View attachment 270198
I borrowed one of those for a month back in the day.

Stan Stephens tuned with effin' big Moto Jolly spannies on it. If you opened the throttle at 5k it died. If you opened it at 6 it wheelied :p

I took it back to my mates in Oxfordshire in the very early hours one weekday morning and the next day he got calls from his mates in the local villages I passed through asking why he was howling through their places at 2am!

I could have bought it for less than a grand

I went over on a 600 bandit. It was quite foggy. Completely absurd experience. I was passing 1000rr’s while fiesta st’s were passing me. still can’t get my head round it.

I think I already told @ianmcd

I was on the Island in 94 or 96 on my Fzr 1000 exup having an early morning run and a works RC45 blew past me on the run down from Kates to the Creg literally like I wasn't moving. It wasn't even in my mirrors last time I looked.

I couldn't swear it was him but the rider had Joey Dunlops helmet on - that made me feel much better about being caned!
