PM hopeful Truss blamed YOU for Britain's failure

Absolutely. (y)

Now you answer a question if you have the balls. If you had a vote for anyone from any party, who would you put in office? Let’s see what swervy, avoidance, diversionary reply comes from this. You just know it won’t nail its colours to the mast.
Unfortunately there isn't a single political party that currently hold the same views as I do on several crucial issues...
But if I had to hold my nose and come up with someone, I'd hope that labour party member Andy Burnham would return to parliament and would get my vote. (despite having a run in with him during a successful campaign I was involved in)

So as usual the forum troll gets it wrong!

You should get together with Dork. Along with your 'interesting' conversation with Elton John, I’m sure with just the tiniest of effort you two could relaunch Jackanory.

2005 (party conference fringe event) and 2006 (NO2ID event).
At the latter he was debating with Peter Tatchell and we had a chat afterwards. He was one of those responsible for trying to force ID cards
on the UK. As you should know from history the idea was defeated. And unsurprisingly he then did a U-turn!

Maybe you ought to check this out and look at the earlier dates of my posts regarding this subject...

Long before you were on here in either 'incarnation'!

And how about you then stfu and crawl back under your bridge!

Lol. You anti-ID brigade make me laugh. So insistent that your ID be protected but when you want to pick up a parcel from the Post Office or drop something off at the local dump….out it comes in a flash with no arguments and full compliance. A suicide bomber roaming the streets unchallenged though, that’s a different matter. Afford them their right to anonymity at any cost!

Ooh, that sharp tongue of yours is going to get you in trouble one of these days you potty mouthed beast! :ROFLMAO:

Surely and ID card is only useful if you die, so police can ID you. Otherwise, you can just tell them who you are.
But the chances are you will have a bank card, drivers licence or something else on you to help quickly ID you anyway.
Never understood the point. If it was important, we'd have them. We could just give everybody a driving licence, and include bikes and scooters on the licence too, with CBT for each.

I suspect a suicide bomber would also be asked for ID to collect a parcel, or use the local dump.

But not on their way to do their bombing! AFAIR, the Manchester bomber was allowed to detonate because they were afraid of offending him by stopping and questioning him or something along those lines. Is that the sort of freedom you want?

I'd cards can be of use to the gov when they are involved in making use of services that are provided. ;) That may appeal to some on here.

They can probably give a clearer idea than current censuses do too.

This simple troll still doesn't understand what the system as proposed was about...

It doesn't comprehend the difference between a simple ID and a statewide all encompassing database...

And the same old arguments that have been debunked even by those who proposed the scheme in the first place are wheeled out time and time again by the ignorant when they are shown up again as always...

But then as long as the troll can buy it's alcohol it doesn't care!

Methinks the racist/sanist/ageist Ellal should perhaps start looking for a new insult - I think it’s just about worn this one out. Best get round to the council house and your Ukrainian tenants. 'Rent' must be due around now and it might calm you down for a while when you get some.

Amd how would an id card made any difference.
More police might have made a difference
